Okra Season

My husband and I both grew up eating okra, especially fried okra. We have tried for a few years to grow our own, and this is the first year we have finally had any worth eating. It's so pretty when cut, but it's even better fried up in our special blend of spices.

Twinsies

Ari and I went to visit a friend and her lovely twin girls. The kiddos had fun climbing all over boxes in the girls' playroom, and I had fun visiting with my friend and taking pictures of her blue-eyed daughters.

Wonderful Water

A few weeks ago, my son and a friend's daughter had a play date, and my son discovered playing at a water table. I've wanted to get him one since. After looking around for a used one for a few weeks, I found a well-reviewed but reasonably priced on online. It arrived yesterday, and we assembled it today.  Ari played with it for nearly half an hour. I'd call that a success.

Bubble Season

I am an avid user of Pinterest, and I've wanted to try this fun bubble recipe for making super-strong bubbles.  Maybe it was the "ultra" Joy or the "light" corn syrup, but the bubbles weren't exactly industrial.  They were still stronger than other bubbles, and they caught the light quite nicely.

Anniversary Love

Just in time for Photojojo's post on making kissing pictures less awkward, my parents celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary.  We celebrated their loving marriage with dinner at our home, and I had to snap a photo. I love these two, and they love their little grandson! He's more evidence of the love they have created in their lives.

Exploratorium with E

Ari and I are enjoying every last moment of summer, and this last week we got to visit the new Exploratorium. It was a bit much for my little man and for my friend's year and a half year old son, E.  Wandering around outside proved much more entertaining for both of the little guys.
