Baby J

As I've become more involved with both motherhood and photography, my creative options have opened quite a bit.  Baby J's mama is a talented artist, and she and I agreed to swap some art for art.  I love the artistic community that I'm finding as I grow as a photographer!

Baby J was a mere 9 days old in these photos, and he's quite the handsome lad. We were hoping for pictures with his newly-minted big sis, but she napped through the whole session (and the first rule of having Baby #2 is to not wake Baby #1).

What About Breakfast at Tiffany's

I had the special opportunity to shoot some Breakfast at Tiffany's-inspired photos in Downtown Napa.  My client and I had a grand time, and we also had the support of Molinari Caffe and Danielle Napa.

 

Travel Bugs

We are lucky enough to have friends from all over the country, and when they stop by our beautiful little corner of the world, they like to have their pictures taken. I can't blame them!

Baby Mia

I am back in the swing of things after a few months of time preparing for a new baby and then having that new baby :). 

Since I love babies, I'm focusing a lot on newborns and families right now. My newest session was with four-week-old Mia.  She is super alert, loved listening to her mama's voice, and was a treat to photograph. 

My Own Sweet Girl

Photographers kids sometimes get tired of having their picture taken...that's when you know it's time to have another (just kidding...sort of).

How could I resist the chance to take newborn photos for my own sweet girl?

Hux Has a Baptism

Sweet Baby Hux, who you may remember from his mama's maternity session, arrived into the world in November and was baptized in December.  His lovely family had a party, and I was fortunate enough to be there to document it.  Some families just can't help but spread joy and love, and Hux is blessed to have been born into such a family.

Maternity Session in the Woods

The clouds parted just long enough on a rainy weekend for Pam and Glenn to get the maternity photos they'd been wanting.  We had so much fun tromping around the grounds of a beautiful Napa Valley Resort - fall foliage, dappled light, the works.

Pam and Glenn's baby boy is entering a lovely world and will be surrounded by adoring parents (and four dogs I heard a bit about, too).  What a fantastic little family!

In Love With Fall

I am a big fan of fall...the leaves, the colors, the light.  I love all of it.  This weekend, I met up with Angela, Andrew, and Axel. Angela actually joined us for the #normalizebreastfeeding shoot, and it was a treat to get to see Axel a whole month older.  This family is so sweet, and they had fun getting to showcase their little guy. #NormalizeBreastFeeding

Both as part of the ongoing quest to #normalizebreastfeeding and to honor the women who are able to breastfeed their babies, I held a special photo shoot. Proceeds from the shoot are on their way to Bright Pink, an organization that supports breast and ovarian health in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month - you can see more of the photos on my Facebook page.

We met in a public park, slightly off the beaten path, and as I started with the first participant, two women, more grandmother age than young mothers, walked by.  I paused, listening to their conversation as passed us on the path.

"Oh, I loved breastfeeding my babies."

"Yeah?"

"I always felt so close to them..."

Encouraged by this public comment, the day continued.  Honestly, this was one of the best experiences I have had as a photographer.
